![]() ![]() “The Cheever Letters” unfolds like the finest of Broadway plays, an episode that could stand on its own outside of the Seinfeld universe. in my opinion, the finest episode this show has to offer. Not just the most underrated episode of Seinfeld ever. WHAT!! Elaine: Uh-ohhhh.īEST MOMENT: “Mackinaw Peaches, Jerry.” Those of you trying to get your grubby little clams on one of these bad boys will be disappointed to learn they don’t exist. No kidding, she said that? Elaine: Ya! George: Those were her exact words, “I like George.” Elaine: Yep! George: Jerry, how do you like that? You see I get myself in a tizzy, I'm all worked up and for what? Elaine: Foooor nothing! In fact she said that looks aren't even that important to her! George: You see. George: So what did she say? Elaine: She. ![]() But it’s when Elaine gets some inside intel from George that we’re treated to one of the finest George–Elaine exchanges of the series: Beginning with George, whose girlfriend Paula has a penchant for sketches that turn average looking men into Mr. “The Doodle” is one of those near perfect Seinfeld episode where every plot weaves together to form a perfect half-hour sitcom. (And yes… they’re ranked.) Starting with: Join me in this journey as we take a look at the best Seinfeld episodes nobody ever talks about, but should. So while no Seinfeld list has been left unturned this week, I thought instead of celebrating the same iconic jokes you’ve been hearing about since the 90s, why not instead shine some light on those underrated episodes often overlooked for your jerk stores, your puffy shirts, your contests, yada yada yada. And this may sound sad to some (all), but if it weren’t for Seinfeld reruns, my parents and I would no longer have a reason to talk to each other. There is no real-life situation that can’t somehow be compared to Seinfeld, no gripe too vain, no scenario too obscure. But to others, myself included, Seinfeld approaches religious-levels of reverence. To some, it’s simply a sitcom that happens to air six times a day in reruns. Last week marked the 25th anniversary of the premiere of Seinfeld, the show about nothing that changed everything. ![]()
